The jawans covered a distance of one kilometre in 60 seconds at the function under the leadership of Captain Abhayjeet Mahlawat, Army sources said, adding the unit had broken their own "world record" in formation of human pyramid on motorcycles.

The same unit had created a world record in August 2009 when they formed a human pyramid comprising 28 jawans on three motorcycles and covered a distance of one kilometre in 66 seconds, the sources claimed.

The feat was certified by High Court judges justices Rajendra Menon and A K Srivastava as fit to be included in the Limca Book of Records and the Guinness Book of World Records, they said.

Earlier, the jawans also displayed their skills by forming a pyramid comprising 10 jawans on two motorcycles.

Besides senior army officials, Madhya Pradesh High Court's Chief Justice Sharad Arvind Bobade, state Assembly Speaker Ishwardas Rohani and Jabalpur Mayor Prabhat Sahu were present on the occasion.
