Army southern command chief concludes 2-day Mumbai visit

Lieutenant General Ashok Singh, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command, today completed his two-day visit to Mumbai and asked his men to "maintain vigilance and ability to respond to any security threat in the area".

"He stressed maintaining vigilance and ability to respond to any security threat in the area," said a defence officer.

Singh reviewed the operational readiness and military preparedness in the Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa and the army units around Mumbai.

"He also evaluated the administrative efficiency of Colaba Military Station here," the officer added.
