The Army has trained girls in self defence in rural area of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir.
"The Indian Army conducted a four-week self defence cadre for girls at Kalakote which terminated today," a defence spokesman said here today.
He said that a total of 10 girls have been trained in self defence techniques and are now confident of protecting themselves in time of need and also to rescue others if the situation demands.

The Sarpanch of the village has appreciated the initiative taken by the Army which has a huge impact on the society, the spokesman said.
He expressed that such initiatives by the Army are a major step in boosting mental as well as physical robustness of women and would empower them to face evil elements of the society.
