Army win shooting championship

Winning 10 gold medals, the Army annexed the team title of the 25th All India G V Mavalankar Shooting Championship held here, a statement by the organisers said today.

Army shooters bagged 10 gold, eight silver and nine bronze medals in the nine-day championship ended here yesterday.

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) secured the runners up position bagging eight gold, 10 silver and six bronze medals, while Haryana finished third with six gold, seven silver and five bronze medals.

Altogether 821 shooters from 34 states and the Army, Navy and Air Force took part in the championship, organised jointly by the West Bengal Rifle and Asansol Rifle Club, under the auspices of the National Rifle Association of India.
