Around 1,200 permits issued every day to vehicles visiting Rohtang Pass: Alphons

On an average 1,200 permits are issued every day to vehicles visiting Rohtang Pass, Union Tourism Minister K J Alphons told the Lok Sabha today.

He said that every day permits are issued for 800 petrol vehicles and 400 diesel vehicles.

"In addition to the above 1,200 permits, 100 special permits per day are being issued as per the directions of the Green Tribunal. Out of this, 75 permits (vehicles of the state) and 25 permits (intrastate vehicles coming to Kullu district) are issued." the minister said.

Any person can apply for the permit online by furnishing required details like registration number, type of vehicle and name of driver, Alphons said.
