Goa Tourism Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar today informed the House that around 400 foreigners were booked for various crimes in the coastal state during the last five years.
The written reply tabled on the floor of the House by Ajgaonkar, clearly shows that majority of these foreigners were found in possession of drugs, which is banned in the state under the Narcotics Drugs Psychotropic Substances Act.
Congress legislator Digambar Kamat had tabled the Question during the ongoing assembly session.
Foreigners were also booked in cases of cheating and overstaying after expiry of visa.
