Accusing the Sri Lankan Government of obstructing the UN probe into alleged human rights violations against Tamils by its army, NDA partner PMK today demanded that the Centre arrange for holding the probe in Chennai so that affected people could get justice.

In a statement here, PMK founder leader Dr S Ramadoss asked the NDA Government to arrange for holding the UN probe in Chennai so that affected people could depose before it.

"The Tamils throughout the world are eagerly waiting to know about the stand of India on the issue of human rights violations committed by Sri Lanka and murder of lakhs of Tamils in the war," he said.

The government should also impose economic sanctions against Sri Lanka to make it fall in line, he said.
