The Hindi translation of eminent artist Anjolie Ela Menon's biography was recently launched here at the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA).
Titled, "Anjolie Ela Menon: Through the Patina", the book narrating the personality and creative life of the eminent artist is filled with pictures and essays on her life and work spanning 55 years.
"It feels great when your life's work gets transformed into a book. I thank all the people who have constantly supported me all these years. I couldn't have been where I am without their support.
"I hope the Hindi translation of the book inspires more and more budding artists," said Menon at the book launch.
Padma Shri awardee Anjolie Ela Menon occupies a distinctive niche in contemporary Indian art and since her first exhibition in 1958, her oil on masonite paintings and mixed-media works have continued to intrigue and enthral art lovers- both in India and abroad.
Ritu Sharma, Director, NGMA, who was also present during the launch said she hopes that the the Hindi translation of the book sells in big numbers and her work gets appreciated by more and more people.
The book was released at Art Adda, NGMA's monthly initiative to promote discussion around art and culture.
