Artists are true messengers of culture: Mahesh Sharma

Union minister Mahesh Sharma today said artistes, authors, sculptors and litterateurs are the true messengers of Indian culture.

The culture minister released the book tiled 'Bhartiya Kala Mein Salil Kridayen Evam Sadyahsnata Nayika' authored by Kshetrapal Gangwar, former professor of Allahabad University, and archaeologist Sanjiv Kumar Singh, at the National Museum here.

"Our artists, authors, sculptors and literary persons are the true messengers of our great culture. I congratulate the authors for bringing out such a valuable book for the masses and especially for the research scholars," he said.

The function was also attended by Minister of State for Finance, Santosh Kumar Gangwar.
 

"India's culture and heritage is her identity to the world. And authors from centuries have been capturing various art and culture in their work.

"Such books give a chance to the future generation to know about our country's rich history. I congratulate both the authors for bringing out such a valuable book for the masses, especially for research scholars," the minister said.

Written in Hindi and published by the National Museum, the book highlights work done by artists hailing from Mathura region of Uttar Pradesh.
