Condemning a Jaipur Development Authority order cancelling allotment of land for construction of Ram Gopal Vijayvargiya Memorial Trust building, a group of local artists today urged Chief Minister to withdraw the decision.
"The land was allotted by Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) in 2006 through proper proceeding. It was legal and there was no objection regarding any technical and legal requirements," a group of local artists led by Vidhyasagar Upadhaya, Vinod Bhardwaj and I B Gautam said at a press conference here.
Former Vice-President late Bhairon Singh Shekhawat had laid the foundation stone of the art gallery and museum of RGVMT in 2006 and the Indian government had provided a grant of Rs 450 lakh in 2012, they claimed.

In an order issued by Deputy Commissioner (Zone-2) on June 11, 2014, JDA said RGVMT was flouting the norms as the construction was not completed within two years of the sanction and hence the land allotment was cancelled and the lease was also terminated.
The aritsts said they would submit a memorandum of their demands to the Chief Minister soon.
