Arun Jaitley to visit Karnali village in Gujarat

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will visit Karnali village in Vadodara district on January 11, Vadodara District Collector Vinod Rao said.

Jaitley's visit has been scheduled after it was announced on December 18, that he has decided to adopt four villages namely Karnali, Pipaliya, Vadiya and Baglipura which come under the Karnali group panchayat of Dabhoi taluka in Vadodara district, as part of the 'Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojna', Rao said.

"The district administration will develop various facilities and make Karnali a tourist spot since lakhs of Lord Shiva devotees visit the Kuber Bhandari temple located in this village every year," Rao said.
 

The total population of the four villages is 2,506, Sub-Divisional Magistrate L B Bambhaliya said.

The Karnali village's ancient Kuber Bhandari temple has the potential to emerge as a major tourist spot since lakhs of devotees visit it, a local temple priest said.
