Arun Nanda joins 3i as non-executive chairman

Private equity major 3i today announced the appointment of Arun Nanda as its non-executive Chairman of Indian operations.

"We are delighted to welcome Arun as Chairman of our Indian business. Arun is a highly experienced business man with an excellent reputation," 3i Chief Executive Officer Simon Borrows said in a statement.

"His insight and advice will be invaluable to our team as we continue to manage our investments to maximise value," he added.

Nanda has spent around 40 years in Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) and held a number of senior positions across various divisions. He is still holding non-executive role in some group firms.
 

As infrastructure sector president, Nanda led M&M's entry into various related sectors and the formation of a number of companies.

"This is a high profile appointment which reinforces our commitment to managing our existing investments and maximising value for our shareholders and the limited partners in our funds," 3i said.

3i is one of the world's leading international investors, with almost 12 billion pound of assets under management.
