Arunachal can be made a model state: Sharma

Arunachal Pradesh can be developed as a model state in the country, its outgoing Governor Lt Gen Nirbhay Sharma said.

This would be possible becuase of its vast natural resources and hard working people, Sharma, who has been appointed as Governor of Mizoram, said in his farewell party last evening.

Besides, "Arunachal Pradesh would soon touch new heights of prosperity," he said and appealed to all to join hands to achieve the desired goal, an official communique said here.

Chief Minister Nabam Tuki thanked the outgoing Governor and his wife for their support and guidance to the state and its people.
 

Sharma will leave the state tomorrow for his next assignment, the communique said.
