Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Monday said he would ensure peace for speedy development of the state.
"Our government shall ensure that for the sake of development, there is peace in the state and any fringe elements attempting to disrupt peace will be dealt with an iron hand," Khandu said after unfurling the national tri-colour on the occasion of 70th Independence Day in Itanagar.
He said the government would lay special emphasis on modernising the police force and equipping them with latest equipments and technology.

Referring to the recent flood devastation in the eastern part of the state, Khandu said the state government would explore the best of technologies to reduce and tackle flood and related problems.
While exhorting the people to participate in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan to achieve the goal of 'Clean Arunachal', the chief minister asked the people to pledge to serve the state and the nation with renewed promise.
