Arunachal Pradesh Governor Jyoti Prashad Rajkhowa has stressed on the need for proper sanitation facilities at schools in the state.
Attending a review meeting at Raj Bhawan here Friday, the Governor advised the officials of PHE, the nodal department of Swachchh Bharat Abhiyan (SBA) in rural areas and the education department to ensure that every school in the state has this facility, along with running water, a Raj Bhawan communique said today.
Out of 3,222 schools in the state, 2,789 were approved under SBA out of which toilets in 2760 schools were completed till August 31 last.

The Governor called for achieving the target of 1,75,924 Individual Household Latrines (IHHL), 1909 Community Sanitary Complexes (CSC) and 1,783 Solid Liquid Waste Management (SLWM) projects within the given timeframe.
The Governor urged the capital dwellers to rise to the occasion, the communique said.
Expressing his concern on disposal of medical wastes, the governor said that incinerators should be installed in all the hospitals, including private hospitals and nursing homes.
"The private health facilities, which do not have their own incinerator, may be allowed to use the incinerators at government hospitals by paying a certain fixed amount," he added.
