The Arunachal Pradesh government has suspended and issued arrest warrants against three officers of the Food and Civil Supplies (FCS) department in connection with the alleged swindling of Land Transport Subsidy (LTS) worth Rs 26 crore.

FCS director C N Longphai, joint director J Koyu and finance and accounts officer (FAO) K Panor were suspended yesterday and directed them not to leave the city without prior permission, Chief Secretary Ramesh Negi informed here today.

During the suspension period the officers will be entitled to 50 per cent subsistence allowance as per the rules.

The Rs 26 crore fraud was detected when one T Koyu filed an FIR on February 17 last, alleging that some unknown persons forged and cheated him of few crores, which were released as LTS by the Food and Civil Supplies department.

The money, designated as LTS (kerosene) for at least four firms, was illegally withdrawn through a fake power of attorney.
