Arunachal Guv greets people on New Year's eve

Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen (Retd) Nirbhay Sharma greeted the people on the eve of New Year day today.

Sharma in his message expressed hope that the New Year would usher in peace, harmony and tranquility in the state besides a new era of initiatives, development and progress.

The governor said the year gone by was an important one in the development of the state. Many important projects reached the final stage of implementation and some were successfully completed like the linking of railway line to the national network helping connectivity.

He said in spite of inter-state boundary issues, ethnic differences and kidnapping and murder, the committed spirit, courage and determination shown by the state government and people facilitated in restoring normalcy.
 

He appealed to the people to resolve to put in concerted effort to secure their future and future of the children through collective endeavour as 'Team Arunachal'.

"Let us provide our children opportunity to excel to their fullest potential, realize our dreams and give shape to our aspirations," he said.

The governor also urged upon the people to be optimistic, rise above differences and infuse communal harmony in society and make it free of drug menace.

"Let us start the year with a clear vision, new strength and renewed commitments towards taking Arunachal Pradesh to new heights of development and prosperity to fulfill the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi," he added.
