Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) Dr B D Mishra on Friday underscored on maintaining internal security and protecting environment for sustainable development of the state.
Terrorism and environmental degradation are factors that trip the development process, Mishra said addressing a workshop on "Building capacities to take forward sustainable development goals in Arunachal Pradesh" here.
"Internal security must be reinforced and the environment should be protected at all cost," he said and cautioned against those trying to destroy the state's economy.
The governor asked officials to plan and execute government schemes with honesty, transparency, accountability and go for course correction mid-way to achieve sustainable development goals.
He said Antyodaya should be the ultimate goal of development schemes, where the last man in the queue is benefited.
"The aspirational district concept of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the right step for development," he said.
