agri-horticulture commissioner Hage Kojeen has been conferred Census 2011 silver medal for his contribution in successfully conducting Census in 2011 as director of census operation, Puducherry, and for being first in the nation to complete the task.
He will receive the medal from President Pranab Mukherjee at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi on January 11, official sources said here today.
Kojeen, who began as an officer in the state's IPR department in 1979, rose to the rank of IPR deputy director before being selected to IAS as AGMUT cadre officer of 1993 batch.
He held various posts such as secretary in IPR, civil supplies and industries departments and secretary to governor besides holding similar positions in Puducherry before being posted to Arunachal Pradesh in 2011.
