Arunachal Pradesh PWD has served 12 notices to a Mumbai-based construction company for alleged delay in executing Lalpur to Changlang portion of the Trans Arunachal Highway (TAH).
Responding to a Zero Hour motion brought by BJP member Laisam Simai in the assembly, PWD minister Gojen Gadi today said that work of the project worth Rs 5.49 crore began in 2011 with a target to complete it by 2014.
But after formation cutting works in 61 km of the 68 km-long road was completed, the company stopped work, he said.

Earlier, raising the issue, Simai informed that the Lalpur to Changlang road was the first TAH portion started in 2011 but the progress was only 36 per cent.
The condition of the road, which served as the lifeline for three circles in Changlang district, deteriorated and the company was not working on it despite repeated request, Simai said.
"Tirap, Changlang and Longding districts are known for wrong reasons but the people are peace loving, pro-government and want development to take deep roots," he said, adding, he had drawn the attention of Union Road, Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari when he visited Jairampur on April last to inaugurate the National Highway 513.
Stating that people's sentiments should not be undermined, Simai pleaded the state government to initiate action against the company including cancellation of contracts and Gadi assured that he will look into the matter.
