Union Rural Development Minister CaAudhary Birender Singh has agreed to provide additional fund to Arunachal Pradesh under Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in three phases.
In the first phase the remaining amount from the allocated fund of Rs 250 crore would be released immediately.
In Phase 2, additional fund of Rs 80-90 crore over and above the state allocation of Rs 250 crore would be provided while in Phase 3, proposal for Revised Estimate would be initiated to secure additional fund within three months where Arunachal Pradesh would get a substantial share, an official press note said today.

The association during a meeting with the Union RD Minister apprised him on the difficulties being faced by the contractors with regard to the pending liabilities and the requirement of additional allocation under PMGSY for smooth and speedy implementation of the flagship programme of the Centre.
Singh assured the delegation to provide additional fund of 500 crore during this fiscal.
The Minister also directed the state government to release the fund to APRDA within at least seven working days, failing which the funds would be curtailed unless the interest on the parked amount is released to APRDA.
The association assured the Minister to request the state government to release the fund as soon as it is credited in the state exchequer.
