Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu today stressed the need to recruit Arunachalee youth in Indo-Tibetan Border Police(ITBP), stating that local people can help the paramilitary force become a "formidable fighting force", an official release said today.

During a meeting with the ITBP Inspector of North East Frontier Headquarters, General Manoj Singh Rawat, Khandu said the paramilitary force could provide employment to the local youth, who in turn, would boost the unit in defending the nation with their knowledge of the landscape, it said.

Rawat, on his part, assured the chief minister that the ITBP is taking measures to recruit locals in the force.

"The force has been conducting training programmes for Arunachalee youth to help them crack the recruitment tests and exams," he added.
