Former BJP MLA Bhim Lal Arya was today granted conditional bail in a four-year-old case of alleged violation of the Model Code of Conduct.
Chief Judicial Magistrate Chandramani Roy granted bail to Arya in the case on the condition that he presents himself before the court on December 9.
Arya had been sent to 14 days' judicial custody by the court on Saturday after rejection of his plea seeking revocation of a non-bailable arrest warrant against him in connection with alleged violation of the Model Code of Conduct in 2012.
Arya, who won on a BJP ticket from Ghansali constituency in 2012, was disqualified as a member of the state assembly earlier this year under the anti-defection law for violating the party whip.
