"Hugo" is a 3D adventure drama movie based on Brian Selznick's novel 'The Invention of Hugo Cabret' and is directed by Martin Scorsese and written by John Logan.

The movie also stars Chloe Moretz, Ben Kingsley, Sacha Baron Cohen, Helen McCrory, Ray Winstone, Emily Mortimer, Jude Law and Christopher Lee. It is being released in India by Viacom18 Motion Pictures.

"We were looking for our Hugo and I'd seen this film 'Boy in the Striped Pyjamas', and I called Ellen Lewis who's Marty's (Scorsese) casting director on every movie, and she'd also seen that film and I said we've gotta get this kid in.

"He came in and read I think like five minutes, and Marty said, that's it, that's Hugo," King said.

Cohen, who is famous for his comic act in films like "Borat" and yet-to-be-released "The Dictator", was an unusual choice as a station master in the period film, which won five trophies at the Oscars this year.

"Someone had mentioned Sacha Baron Cohen and that certainly wasn't in my world to think of him doing a Scorses film, period piece and playing this role. And Marty met with him and then called me up and said he was fantastic.

"He's gonna add a layer to this film that would be really fun and emotional. And you know, who knew that Sacha had that in him to do that and he just does it so wonderfully," King recalled. (MORE) PTI AYM
