An Asam Sahitya Sabha delegation called on Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal here and hoped under his leadership a new economic era would dawn in the state.
The seven-member delegation led by the president of the state's apex literary body, Dhrubajyoti Bora met Sonowal yesterday and apprised him of its centenary celebration programmes at Jorhat in December this year and at Sibsagar in February next year.
Sonowal in his turn assured the Sabha of his government's support and cooperation to make its centenary celebrations a success.

Bora requested the chief minister for budgetary allocation for grants-in-aid to the Sabha in the budget and also made a plea for release of last year's grants-in-aid, a government release today said.
Sonowal also met a delegation of Shrimanta Sankardev Sangha headed by its 'Padadhikar' Bhaben Deka today, the release added.
