Asaram aide booked under Arms Act

A close aide of Asaram, who is in judicial custody in connection with the murder of a witness in a rape case against the self-styled godman, has been booked under the Arms Act, police said today.

A pistol was seized on the information provided by Niraj Kumar, who is an accused of murdering Akhil Gupta, witness in a rape case against Asaram, a police officer said.

Following which, he was also booked under the Arms act and a warrant issued on his name, he said.

Gupta was shot dead here on January 11, 2015.
