ASC celebrates 257th corps day at Northern Command headquarter

The Army Service Corps celebrated its 257th Corps Day at Northern Command headquarters in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur.

Northern Command General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Lt General D Anbu complimented all ranks of the ASC for their dedication, professionalism in performing their duty in difficult and inhospitable terrain in the Command, Defence Spokesman said.

The GOC-in-C called upon all ranks of the ASC to work selflessly and rededicate themselves to uphold the ethos and spirit enshrined in the Corps motto, he said.

The Army Service Corps is responsible for provisioning, procurement and distribution of supplies and petroleum products to the Army, Air Force and Navy and other Central Armed Police Forces.
 

In addition, the ASC is also the single largest custodian of transport fleet and animal of the Indian Army.
