ASDC stages dharna, calls for 60-hour bandh in Karbi Anglong

The demonstrators handed over a memorandum to Assam Governor J B Patnaik through the deputy commissioner's office.

ASDC, the principal opposition party in Karbi Anglong Autonomous District, also demanded that Soil Conservation officer of the district, Pradip Dutta, should be arrested for alleged "misuse of council funds".

Meanwhile, the party has also called for a 60 hour Karbi Anglong bandh from May 26 to May 28 against the state government's decision to appoint teachers through the Teachers Eligibility Test (TET).

ASDC has demanded that all teachers appointed in the district should be locals .
