The ASEAN-India car rally continued its fourth leg and entered Bangkok when during the journey, the participants from the 11-member nations were informed about the demise of Gujral.
Soon the participants from 11 countries, including Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand condoled the death of the former Janata Dal leader.
BJP MP Tarun Vijay, who is also the team leader of the Indian contingent participating in the rally, said: "He was a man of extra ordinary vision on foreign policy."
Gujral, who was India's Prime Minister for 11 months in 1997-98, died at a Gurgaon hospital yesterday due to lung infection, just four days before his 93rd birthday. He was cremated with full state honours.
