Ashish Deshmukh raises crop damages with Maharashtra CM

He also urged the revival of Nagpur District Central Co-Operative Bank (NDCCB) to help the depositors

Newly elected MLA from Katol, Ashish Deshmukh has demanded adequate compensation to farmers whose crops including soybean and cotton have suffered extensive damages due to untimely rains in Maharashtra.

He also urged the revival of Nagpur District Central Co-Operative Bank (NDCCB) to help the depositors.

"Soya and cotton have suffered extensive damages due to untimely and late rains in June and July this year and similarly oranges were damaged in Katol, Morshi, Warud, Kalmeshwar and other places," he said.

Deshmukh has urged the Maharashtra government to release financial assistance to the tune of Rs 25,000 per hectare to affected farmers.
 

The MLA who met Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis yesterday submitted a memorandum to him.

On the issue of NDCCB, Deshmukh drew the attention of Chief Minister to initiate immediate steps to revive the Bank and save the depositors from mental harassment, a release from his office said today.
