Uttar Pradesh government has appointed Ashish Yadav Sonu as Officer on Special Duty for Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, official sources said here.
Yadav, who is working as a media coordinator in Samajwadi Party and looking after party relations with media, will now be responsible for Akhilesh's media relation, among other responsibilities.
He joined duty today, they said.
Ashish said he would continue to work in the interest of the government and ensure better coordination with the media.
