The Ministry of Railways has appointed Integral Coach Factory General Manager, Ashok K Agarwal as Southern Railway General Manager with immediate effect.
Agarwal succeeds Rakesh Misra who retired from service on January 31, an official release said.
"Ashok K Agarwal has taken over the charge of General Manager, Southern Railway, Chennai in addition to the post of General Manager, Integral Coach Factory", it said.
Earlier Agarwal served as Chief Administrative Officer of Indian Railways Organisation for Alternate Fuels.
Belonging to 1977 batch of Indian Railways Service of Mechanical Engineers, Agarwal worked in various capacities as Divisional Railway Manager, West Central Railway, Bhopal, and also in the Railway Board, the release added.
