Ashok Leyland sales dip 21.2 per cent in Feb

Hinduja Group flagship company Ashok Leyland has reported a 21.2 per cent decline in its total sales in February at 7,915 units.

The city-headquartered company had sold 10,046 units during the same month of previous year, Ashok Leyland said in a statement.

Sales of medium and heavy commercial vehicle in February declined by 20.8 per cent, to 5,576 units from 7,045 units sold during the same month of previous year.

Sales of light commercial vehicles in February, 2014 declined to 2,339 units from 3,001 units sold in the same month of previous year.

During the April to February 2014 period the total sales of the company declined by 21.4 per cent to 79,056 units from 1,00,592 units sold in the year ago period.
 

Sales of medium and heavy commercial vehicle during the period April 2013 to February 2014 declined to 52,624 units from 70,000 units.

On sales of light commercial vehicles, the company said it slipped to 26,432 units from 30,592 units.

Shares of the company today ended at Rs 15.55 apiece, down by 0.64 per cent over previous close on the BSE.
