Ashok Mago receives 'Distinguished Alumni Award'

Padma Shri awardee Indian-American Ashok Magohas received theDistinguished Alumni Awardfrom theUniversity of Texas at Dallas.

The Distinguished Alumni Award is the highest honour that the University bestows on its alumni. It is presented to individuals who are distinguished in their chosen professions or life's work who demonstrate pride in the University.

Mago is chairman and CEO of Mago & Associates Inc, a Dallas-based business and investment consulting firm. He is the founding chairman of the Greater Dallas Indo-American Chamber, now known as the US-India Chamber of Commerce.

He serves on the Board of Regents for the University of North Texas System, and on boards for the Primary Care Clinic of North Texas and the Dallas County Community College District Foundation.
 

In 2014, Mago was awarded the Padma Shri Award by the president of India.

Mago immigrated to the United States in 1974 after earning a bachelor's degree from Delhi University. He received a Master of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Dallas.
