Ashok Parnami elected as Raj BJP Chief for 2nd time

BJP leader Ashok Parnami was relected as the party's Rajasthan chief for the second consecutive term in the organisational election completed here today.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, Home Minister G C Kataria and Education Minister K C Saraf had proposed and filed the nomination papers of Parnami, who was the only candidate to file nomination for the post yesterday.

Central observer of the party, Dinesh Kumar Sharma, made the announcement today along with declaring the results of the election to the posts of 25 state and central party functionaries.

Parnami, the BJP MLA from Jaipur's Adarsh Nagar constituency, is known to be Raje's loyalist.

The 25 members of BJP National Council elected today

include Gulab Chand Kataria, Asad Anwar Khan, Rohitshav Sharma, Babulal Verma, Chunnilal Garasia, Vinod Yadav, Suresh Patodia, Banwari Lal Saini, Shivnath Singh Pachar, Gaurishankar, Bahadur Singh Narang, Bindu Choudhary, Jawahar Singh, Mahendra Meena, Shambhu Dayal Badgujar, and Kartar Singh.

State unit election officer Shyam Sunder Sharma announced the names of candidates who filed their nominations yesterday.

Rajendra Gehlot, Jograj Singh, Rampratap, Devi Singh Bhati, Ramraj Meena, Achla Ram Meghwal, Ashok Navlakha, O P Mendra and Rohini Kumari also figured in the list of the party's National Council from Rajasthan.
