Ashram Shala principal among 2 held for accepting bribe

Headmaster of a government-run boarding school in district and his office superintendent were arrested by ACB today for allegedly demanding Rs 23,000 in bribe for extending official favour to a vegetable contractor.

Headmaster of the boarding school (ashram shala), based in Kapara village, Govinda Varghade (52) and Prashant Sorte (36) had allegedly sought Rs 23,000 from the complainant for signing on his pending bill.

Sorte was held when he was allegedly accepting the amount in front of district court.

On Sorte's revelation on involvement of Varghade, ACB placed the duo under arrest.
