'Ashtadhatu' idols stolen from temple in UP

Unidentified thieves stole 'ashtadhatu' idols worth Rs 2 crore from a 200-year-old temple in Nagar Kotwali police station area here, police said today.

According to a complaint lodged by the pujari, thieves broke into the temple last night and fled with the 'ashtdhatu' idols of Radha and Krishna installed in the temple, they said.

An FIR has been lodged and efforts are on to recover the idols which are said to be worth Rs 2 crore in the international market, they added.
