Former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat today denied that Ashutosh Singh, whose allegedly disproportionate wealth is currently being probed by CBI, was in anyway associated with him.
"This man has never been associated with me in any capacity. He was neither my OSD nor my PS at any point of time. I don't know why he is being linked with me," Rawat said.
"If he has done something wrong, CBI should do its job. But why is his name being linked with mine ? It seems some people are out to defame me," he said.
CBI has raided the residences of Ashutosh Singh in several cities in the course of its probe into his disproportionate assets.
He is said to have been Rawat's OSD from March 2014 to Oct 215.
