vigilance sleuths today arrested an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of police red-handed while accepting bribe of Rs 15,000 today, police said.
The arrested cop has been identified as Chakradhar Hota, ASI of Kolab police out-post in the district.
Officials said that the ASI had demanded Rs 15,000 from two women- Joti Nag and Rajani Khora- of Deoghati village to dispose a liquor case.
"The ASI was arrested while accepting the bribe money the Kolab police out-post. The bribe amount was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and will be produced at court on Thursday," said SP (vigilance) Subash Das.
