The woman was allegedly raped yesterday and had approached ASI Nirmalendu Ghosh, DC (Headquarters) of Howrah police Nishad Pervez said adding he was suspended for not informing the Jagacha police station of it.
In the FIR, which was registered several hours after the alleged incident, the woman claimed that she was robbed and criminally assaulted last evening.
She also alleged denial of any police help even after she pleaded for it.
The woman was being medically examined and the accused was yet to be traced, police said.
