A three-day 8th Asia Pacific Newborn Screening meeting of the International Society for Neonatal Screening started at AIIMS today.
The meeting will focus on issues related to newborn screening with reference to developing countries and in the context of advances made in the field.
Stalwarts in the field of newborn screening from all over the world have come together to share their experiences.
The objectives of the meeting is to generate awareness regarding utility and feasibility of Newborn Screening among health professionals, to learn from the experiences of the developed and developing countries which have already initiated newborn screening and to develop a road map to initiate newborn screening in a phased manner in Asia Pacific Region.
