Asian Granito Q1 Net up 31.37 per cent at Rs 3.35 crore

Ahmedabad-based ceramic tiles maker, Asian Granito today reported 31.37 per cent increase in its net profit at Rs 3.35 crore for the quarter ended June, 2014.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 2.55 crore in the corresponding period last year.

Net sales of the company rose 12.21 per cent to Rs 175.98 crore during the first quarter compared to Rs 156.82 crore in the same period a year ago, the company said in a statement.

Consolidated net profit of the Chennai-based company, grew to Rs 10.17 crore, an increase of 262.14 per cent, over Rs 2.83 crore in the year ago period, a statement said here.

Total income from operations for the quarter ending June 30, 2014 grew to Rs 401.04 crore from Rs 286.10 crore registered during corresponding quarter of previous year.

Nitta Gelatin Jun qtr PAT at Rs 1.08 crore * Nitta Gelatin India Limited (NGIL), the second largest Gelatin manufacturer in the country, posted a profit of Rs 1.08 crore for thequarter ended June 30,2014.

The company had posted net losses for the three preceding quarters, a company release said.

The company posted an increase of around nine per cent total income from operations which stood at Rs 86.21 crore this Quarter compared with Rs 79.23 crores in the corresponding Quarter of 2013-14.

Though the 2014-15 Q1 net profit witnessed a dip as compared to the corresponding previous year period, the results point to a turnaround of the company's operations.

However, the rising input costs, coupled with pricing pressure on some of the products brought the operating margins under pressure.

PTC India Q1 net profit jumps 47% at Rs 43.74 crore * Power trading company PTC India today reported over 47 per cent jump in its net profit at Rs 43.74 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2014 on account of increase in income from electricity sales.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 29.67 crore in the same period last financial year.

PTC India's total income from operations during the quarter rose to Rs 3,689.54 crore from Rs 2,770.46 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal.

Income from operation of the company includes sale of electricity, rebate on purchase of power, sale of coal and service, charges. Purchases include purchase of electricity, purchase of coal, rebate on sale of power etc, the company said in a filing to the stock exchange.
