ASJ institutes awards for investigative journalism

The Asian College of Journalism (ACJ) has instituted awards for investigative journalism in print/online and audio-visual categories, the premier institute has announced.

The awards, for which nominations are open till January 31 inviting journalists and news organisations to send in entries to be considered by the awards committee and jury, will be presented on May 3, World Press Freedom Day.

It will carry a citation and Rs two lakh as prize money for each award, ACJ said in a statement here. Jurist and author Justice Leila Seth is the chairperson of the awards jury.

Any journalistic work that was published or broadcast during the calendar year 2015 is eligible for nomination by a news organisation, working or freelance journalists.
