Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president N Uttam Kumar Reddy Friday alleged that the aspirations of the people of Telangana in the new state remained unfulfilled in the four-and-a-half year rule of TRS.

He said the purpose for which the then Congress president Sonia Gandhi granted statehood for Telangana remained had not been served due to 'the inefficient, incompetent and corrupt rule of caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao," a Congress release said.

Reddy was speaking at the 'Telangana Intellectuals Meet', organised by Telangana Intellectual Forum at Warangal.

Meanwhile, TPCC Treasurer Gudur Narayana Reddy urged the Election Commission to 'restrain' caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao,ministers and TRS workers from participating in distribution of sarees on 'Bathukamma' festival on October 12 as the Model Code is in force for the coming assembly polls in the state (such saree distribution took place last year).

Citing the EC circular on imposition of the Model Code in Telangana, the TPCC Treasurer said the election authorities should ensure that TRS does not take political advantage of saree distribution on the occasion of 'Bathukamma.
