Police have arrested an aspiring model and her associate here for allegedly resorting to ATM fraud to collect money for getting her portfolio made by a Mumbai-based fashion photographer.

The 22-year-old woman and her 29-year-old driver were arrested yesterday from Mukherjee Nagar area in north west Delhi following a complaint from another woman who had been cheated by the duo a few days ago, said Vijay Singh, DCP (north west).

The duo had duped the woman by swapping her ATM card with another one at an ATM booth and later withdrawing Rs 25,000 from her account. Accidentally, the woman saw the duo near the same ATM outlet in Indira Vihar in Mukherjee Nagar and called the police who arrested them.

The accused were allegedly involved in five cases of ATM fraud, police claimed. Seven ATM cards of different banks and Rs 14,000 in cash were seized from them, said the officer.

Police said the woman wanted her portfolio made by a professional photographer. She had approached a professional fashion photographer from Mumbai who had sought Rs 2.5 lakh from her as fee, said the officer.
