Assam asks IIT-Guwahati to suggest ways for curbing traffic

The Assam Government has asked the IIT-Guwahati to suggest ways and means for curbing the growing menace of traffic mishaps in the State.

Expressing concern about rising road accidents in the state, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said the government was taking serious view of the traffic mishaps in the state and asked IIT-G to come up with a comprehensive plan to curb the menace.

"Our government has taken serious view of the rise in incidents of road accidents taking place in different parts of the state leading to loss of precious lives and has asked IIT Guwahati to come up with a comprehensive road traffic management plan to curb the menace," said a government release quoting Gogoi.
