The Winter Session of the Assam Legislative Assembly was adjourned sine-die today concluding its five-day sitting.
The session began on December 7 when on the opening day all BJP MLAs and rebel Congress members, who had joined the BJP recently and were present in the House that day, were suspended for the entire session for going against the Speaker's ruling and creating ruckus in the House.
A Breach of Privilege motion against former Congress minister and BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma was also unanimously adopted for criticising the Speaker and the House for suspending the 12 MLAs on disciplinary grounds.
