An Assam-based businessman, abducted three days ago from Sahibganj railway station, was today rescued and two persons were arrested in this connection, police said here.

Businessman Onkarmal Agarwal was rescued from the custody of Samu Hansda and Sonu Murmu at Goranda village under Borio police station in Sahibganj district, IG (Santhal Pargana) Umesh Kumar Singh told reporters.

Acting on a tip-off, police arrested Hansda and his interrogation led to the location where Murmu held Agarwal captive, he said.

A country-made pistol and four bullets were recovered from Murmu, the IG said.

The duo had lured Agarwal to Sahibganj from Delhi on the pretext of giving him some work. They held him captive for four days, he said.

Agarwal's family, which stays in Guwahati, had on June 4 filed an FIR under IPC sections 364 A (kidnapping for ransom) and 120B (criminal conspiracy).
