Assam beat MP 4-1 in Coca-Cola Football Meet

Thongram Singh struck a brace in as many minutes as Assam trounced Madhya Pradesh 4-1 in the Coca Cola Cup Football Youth Level Championship, organised by the Western India Football Association (WIFA) under the aegis of the All India Football Federation, here today.

For Assam, Emanuel opened the scoring in the 5th minute, while Thongram Singh scored a double in the 58th and 59th minute. Pinku Mohan scored in the 89th minute to close the match on a high note.

The solitary goal for Madhya Pradesh was scored by Swapnil Chintaman in the 44th minute at the Goan Sports Association ground.
 

This youth football initiative for teenagers is being hosted by the WIFA for the first time ever in Maharashtra.

Eight teams will battle it out for the right to be crowned Champions of India in this Sub Junior championship.
