Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today greeted the people of the state on the occasion of Holi.
He urged people to forget all differences, embrace and spread the message of unity to make the state stronger.
"May the celebrations of the festival of colours strengthen our age-old bonhomie, universal brotherhood and camaraderie among all sections of the people of Assam," the chief minister said in a message here.

He hoped that Holi celebrations will further strengthen the socio-cultural edifice of the state.
A local holiday has been declared on March 2 within the jurisdiction of undivided Kamrup (Guwahati Metro) on the occasion of Holi and all state government offices, and educational institutions will remain closed on that day, an official release said here.
All financial institutions within the district will also remain closed on March two next under section 25 of Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, the official release said.
